A well-designed home plays a vital role in supporting aging in place. Yet, many older adults live in houses with features such as small bathrooms, narrow hallways, and tight doorways, elements that can become significant obstacles as physical needs evolve. To remain safely and comfortably at home in the long term, modifications are often necessary. Unfortunately this need goes unrecognized until a crisis occurs. This workshop will explore key design factors that influence aging in place. Attendees will gain practical insights into renovations and adjustments that promote independence and safety, along with information on financing options to support these changes.
